Eric Scott was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 10th, 1957. His father was a salesman and his mother worked as a secretary. Eric enjoyed spending time with his family, but he also loved playing the guitar and making music.
In 1975, at the age of 20, Eric moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. He started out working as a session musician and vocalist for various artists. In 1978, he released his first album, which included the hit song “Waltons”. Eric first appeared on screen in 1956 in an episode of “Gunsmoke”. He later appeared on such shows as “Wagon Train”, “Daniel Boone”, “Bonanza” and “The Rifleman”. In 1967, he landed his most famous role as John Walton on “The Waltons”. The show ran for seven seasons and made Eric a household name. Afterward, Eric continued to work in television including roles on “Little House on the Prairie”, “Rawhide”, and “Knight Rider”among others.

In addition to his stage work, Eric Scott also had a successful film career which began with an appearance in The Dirty Dozen (1967) followed by appearances in such films as Saturday Night Fever (1977), Grease II (1982), Top Gun (1986) and Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season 3 Episode 22 “The Best Of Both Worlds Part II” (1989). He retired from acting in 2003 after appearing in two episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
